Treasure Hunting Duo
~1950's Doll~
Offered here is a vintage, 1950's doll. She is marked AE on the back of her neck. I believe that she could be a Valentine Co. doll. Another ebayer has kindly told me that she is a Valentine doll called Mona Lisa and she was produced in 1950 & 1951. She is a walker and her head turns when her feet are moved. She has a hard plastic body and a softer head (vinyl?). She is jointed at the knees and ankles. She measures approx. 18" in length. She is in good overall condition, but there are some minor issues that I see. There are a few scuff/marks on her body. There is a very small cut in the vinyl near the outside corner of her left eye (see close-up). Near the chin line on the left side of the face, there's a small bulge (see close-up). Her hair is shorter in the middle and longer on the bottom. I've seen many dolls from different estates with the same hair lengths, so I kind of think it was a way for the doll companies to save money, but I can't state that with any certainty. It's possible she had a haircut.
She came wearing the dress. It is not tagged and I do not know if it was originally hers or not. It is missing a snap in back.
I am listing many vintage dolls this week. All come from local estate sales. None are in mint condition. All have been played with. For all of these dolls, there may be imperfections/flaws that I am unaware of or not knowledgeable enough to see. Therefore, any and ALL questions should be asked BEFORE bidding.

~Shipping~
I do NOT add a handling fee. Shipping is calculated by the weight of the package and by zipcode. The package weighs approx. 3 lbs. You have the choice of either parcel post or USP Ground.
If Media Mail or Parcel Post are options for shipping, PLEASE ALLOW EXTRA TIME FOR DELIVERY WHEN CHOOSING EITHER OF THOSE METHODS. Both take longer than priority mail.
*Important: For packages that will be shipped via UPS, please remember that UPS will NOT ship to PO Boxes. You MUST have a street address in order for me to ship via UPS. If you do not, or if you are paying through paypal and your confirmed address is a PO Box, I will ONLY be able to ship via USPS and the shipping rate will most likely be higher.
If you reside outside of the continental US, please e-mail us in advance of bidding for a shipping quote. Most likely, it will not be the same as the rate quoted in this auction. This would include international bidders as well as Alaska, Hawaii and residents of US possessions. If you do NOT e-mail us ahead of time to discuss shipping costs/methods, you may be charged a substantial shipping surcharge.
International Bidders:
We are currently only accepting international buyers on a "per buyer" basis. If you would like to bid and you live outside the U.S., please send us an e-mail through ebay.
All custom fees are the responsibility of the buyer and all customs documents will be filled out correctly in accordance with US law. Items will be marked as "merchandise" and the value as the ending value of the auction. This is NON-NEGOTIABLE.
As long as the weight of the item allows, we normally will offer first class international as a shipping option. HOWEVER, please remember that first class TAKES LONGER than priority. If you choose international first class, you should ADD AT LEAST 7-10 days on to the normal delivery time.
We are always happy to combine shipping for multiple, same day purchases.
We normally ship within 2 business days of receiving cleared payment.
As a courtesy to our customers, we insure all packages.
~Payment~
Currently, paypal is the only payment method we accept.
As per ebay policy, we no longer accept snail mail related payments.
Payment is due within 7 days of purchase. If payment is not received within 7 days, we reserve the right to cancel the transaction and relist the item.
If you will not be paying within the first day or so, we ask that you PLEASE e-mail us and let me know when to expect payment. That way, you are not mistaken for a non-paying bidder.
~Fine Print~
Other considerations: We are a smoke-free home. We are not a pet-free home. One dog and 2 cats share our home with us.
Refund Policy:
All items are insured. However, should there be any loss or damage and said loss or damage is stipulated in the insurance as not being covered, no refund will be given.
Refunds will not be given for "buyer remorse".
New, with tag clothes: We will gladly give a full refund if you find a flaw on any article of clothing that is new, with tags. Once the item has been returned to us, we will refund your payment.
Gently used and vintage* items: We try very hard to list any and all flaws that we see. The vast majority of the vintage items that we sell are NOT mint. They have been used/played with and wear should be expected. Since it is the nature of items that are not new to have flaws, refunds will not be given for minor flaws not stated in the auction description. However, should you find a major, obvious flaw that was NOT STATED in the auction, please contact us. We will consider giving a full refund (ending value of the auction, not including shipping costs) if there is a major, OBVIOUS flaw that was not stated in the auction. We consider major flaws to be things such as large, noticeable stains, tears, holes, broken pieces, ect. A major flaw must NOT have been mentioned in the auction in order for us to consider a refund AND it has to be one that any layman (non-expert) can see. The item must be returned to us before a refund can be issued.
*Note on Vintage Items: We try to list these items as accurately as possible in terms of age, condition, manufacturer, ect. However, we are NOT experts. We simply buy and resell. As a general rule of thumb, we will NOT issue refunds for errors in the listing related to the manufacturer or age of the item or for a flaw that would not be obvious to us as laymen (non-experts). Therefore, it is extremely important that you ask questions BEFORE bidding on any vintage items.
