Shepherd Shack Studios Present cornucopia “Honey’s Fruit Presentation”
A great deal of attention was given to my last Cornucopia design, some of which came after the auction had closed. I have decided to design a new Holiday Cornucopia filled with a bounty of fruit. Of course my design creations would be nothing without including a special animal. That is where Honey the Cotswold Lamb enters the picture.
My goal is to have this beautiful centerpiece presentation adorn someone’s table setting this holiday season. That is why I have placed a 5 day limit to the auction to expedite priority delivery for the upcoming holidays.
I hope you enjoy Honey and the beautiful bounty she will bring to your gathering.
Janet
· This auction is for one OOAK Cotswold lamb named “Honey” and her OOAK Cornucopia with a variety of fruits (as shown).
· Honey is Firmly Needle Felted from 100% Cotswold wool. Her legs and neck have been reinforced to allow for “gentle posing”.
· She is quite detailed and expressive from the twinkle in her eye, her facial features right down to her cloven hooves of polymer clay.
· Honey’s wool curls are Cotswold locks which have been individually needled to her body.
· She measures 7 inches long and 4 ¼ inches tall.
· All of my wool sculptures are initialed in the wool and dated with the year; Honey is absolutely One Of A Kind.
· The Cornucopia is created by combining both wet and needle felting techniques, using Cotswold wool. The wet felting provides bulk and strength while the needle felting allows the application of finer details. The Cornucopia has been stiffened to allow the shape to be maintained for the long haul. The individual holly leaves and vine have been wet felted while the holly berries are needle felted, and each applied to the Cornucopia.
· The fruits that are included with the Cornucopia are: Grapes, apples (2), oranges (2), plums (2) and bananas (2) (see photos). Each piece of fruit has been needle felted using a variety of Corriedale and Merino wool.
· The Cornucopia measures 11 inches long (at the bend) and 6 ½ inches high (at the opening).
This centerpiece presentation is absolutely one of a kind, and ready to adorn your festive holiday gathering.
NEEDLE POINT:
To help keep your needle felted sculptures firm, try to use a coarse fiber as a base. Fine fibers are great for surfaces, but will never give you the strength you will need for a leg to stand on its own. See our eBay Store for a variety of natural fiber selections.
About the Artist: Janet Rodrigues was born and raised in New England. She has been creating magic with her felt designs for over twenty years. Janet is a juried member of the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen and has won numerous awards for her fiber art creations. She now lives on a ranch in northeast OK. Janet was able to re-locate her flock of rare Cotswold sheep from the northeast, when she made the move. Her desire to see these sheep thrive has stimulated her imagination to give birth to the Wool-E-Kin. Janet shears, washes, and dyes her Cotswold’s wool. Then she sculpts a wide variety of animal life for your pleasure and hers. When you own a Wool-E-Kin you will not only enjoy a one of a kind creation, you will have done your part to preserve a very rare and old breed of sheep.
About the Sheep: Cotswold’s are a rare breed of sheep. They have the oldest breed registry in the U.S. Originating in England, this breed sports long lustrous ringlets. They were nicknamed the golden-fleeced breed in the 1400's because of the value put on their wonderful fleeces.
Shipping and Handling: Honey and the Cornucopia will be handled and packed by the artist with the utmost of care. She will be shipped within two days of receiving payment. Any overseas orders must be shipped via Air Mail. Please contact for shipping quote.
