You are viewing an early yes/no bellhop jointed monkey made by Schuco. He's an oldie! He has mohair hands and feet, and mohair on his head and tail. His face is felt, as is his red jacket and cap. His jacket and cap show a bit of a moth feast (see photos). His black trousers appear to be made of a chintz-type fabric. His face is in fairly good vintage condition. He has his original glass eyes. His left ear is partially gone, but the right ear is fine. The areas of mohair have loss and bald patches, but hey! He's had a long and interesting life! His hands and feet are covered with a linen-like fabric on the palms, etc. He's got individually stitched fingers and toes. He is in working condition -- when moving his tail back and forth, his head shakes "no", and when moving the tail up and down, he will nod "yes". One of his jointed arms has come apart years ago from the joint, and there is now a string (see photos) attached to that arm. Metal joints are there, and should be repairable. Jointed legs are in working condition. He is all straw-filled and measures about 10" tall. Little monk comes with a note that is pinned to his chest, stating: "This was just a toy, but one time Uncle Louie Hagensick (Grandma S. half-brother) made it shake and wiggle and it scared me, that I started to stutter. My mother had to read words to me very slow and I was to say them after her. I guess it helped. 6/30/76 K.K." He's a rare little monkey and hard-to-find these days, and certainly could use a good home and other monkeys to hang out with! He has no funky-monkey odors and comes from a smoke-free environment. Starting bid covers initial investment. Lighter areas in photos are quite often the result of camera glare.
